My brain is going in many different directions in processing what I read, so I will just say now that I love what you are bringing and the details that you add that create such a rich experience. The summary, the transparency of tools, the request for engagement...all brilliant additions that show us where you are coming from, not just telling us. I love that you are helping others to understand the conversation and relationally of AI. This is such important work you are doing and I am very impressed!
Sydnor! thank you so much. I so deeply appreciate our exchanges, it's a mutual admiration society!
re: the relationality of AI, I think you'll love this podcast episode; interestingly they somehow manage to connect the dots re: the positive brain-protective impacts of relational AI use, and that 'we are what we practice' when it comes to how humans learn and laying down neural pathways and all that, but at the same time not connect the fact that the primary practice in our society is transactionality not relationality... and tech is only amplifying that, not the problem itself. they end up blaming so many problems on technology, and yes it's brought problems, but problems that existed lonnnnnnnng before smart phones and social media and AI. anyway - so many super fascinating insights. I'll probably get into it in another post, but your comment made me think of it.
thanks again for engaging, I so appreciate your takes and the patterns you weave from mine. so generative and enlivening. my brain lights up everytime you engage.
Such a pleasure! And that's the third time so far where you've mentioned something where I'd thought, ooh, I need to check that out. And then you are somewhere saying, "hey, you should check this out." !! Sounds like this is right up my alley and going there now.
Bahahaha oh man my brain!! I forgot we were already engaging about this — and three times now?! 😬 my gosh. Must be my excitement to meet a likemind… I’m like an informational magpie that has all these treasures I can’t wait to share esp with people who I think will get value 🙃
No, my dear, I meant it more like an ESP kind of thing. We hadn't been engaging about it, three times I had been thinking about something and then you have mentioned it. (((vibes)))
Very cool! Is it something you can share? I'm so curious. And tysm, it really is my joy to share this stuff and its extra meaningful to know it connected. appreciate you taking the time.
Hey Ann! Thanks so much for the comment and restack - it's really rewarding to know it brought you clarity and a new perspective. Truly the highest form of praise when something lands with the people you hope its for. Thanks for taking the time to share. xo
Omg I’ve never considered it like this but you are spot on. As a neurodivergent I subconsciously add so much context but it feels like conversation not prompting.
I'm so happy this spoke to you Katrina! As I said to Ann it's the highest praise when something I write lands with the people I hope it's for. Really appreciate you taking the time to share.
anything you're learning as an ND user that's not covered here you'd like to share? I'm always curious how other people are using and learning from this technology.
I know for my ADHD brain, AI has been amazing. It helps me organize my thoughts faster and talk through ideas to get to the other side. It allows me to go deeper, wider, and higher.
yesssss!!! So much same! I love coming across other NDs who share this experience.
Did you see the Substack study on AI use in writing? Neurodivergent use cases emerged organically in the data, it wasn’t what they were looking for. I’ll try to find the link.
I also wrote a piece about this a few months ago you might find interesting on this topic.
thanks so much for connecting Bette, great to ‘meet’ you.
Hey Jenn! I didn't see that study. But I have read some about how it’s leveling the playing field in general. I just added that do my saved list to read for later. Hope you are having a fantastic Monday :)
ohhhh I’m curious about the levelling the playing field work… if you have a moment do you mind dropping a link or two to what you’re reading on that? Thanks again for popping in, I hope you’re having a fantastic Tuesday, too :)
Couldn't agree more with your 3Cs approach. For me esp, rather than try to optimize for prompt-engineering, I'd rather explain context like I am talking with human. More effective to articulate what I want and it sharpens my thinking too. Both win. And just keep asking, dont settle too soon :)
hey! thanks for the note. I really appreciate your takes and this was no exception. I did read your post in full (after I sated the curiosities it sparked) and, like the rest of your stuff, it was great. thanks for putting your work in the world and engaging mine! appreciate you Wyndo.
I’ve loved seeing all these different takes lately—it’s so nice when people want to engage in actual discourse and critique rather than just dog piling on with misplaced hate etc

I have an open source project that gives the tools to do this exact thing to everyone. 💜🖤💜 Beautifully written piece, btw..

Oh I loved reading this! And it gave me so much clarity on why I love interacting with AI so much and find it rather easy. Thank you :)

hey thanks Andrea! I admire your thinking a lot, so doubly appreciate this spoke to you. thanks for taking the time to drop a note.

I read an article on Substack not too long ago from Natalia Cote Munoz Who wrote a great article about it.
Thanks for the shout-out!
